ONE Master, KING JESUS (Part 1)
UNITY is not found in what we do, but in who we are. Are you IN CHRIST? Then you are IN UNITY with God, Holy Spirit, Jesus, AND His FOLLOWERS. If not, you are in the FLESH. We are IN UNITY by God’s Grace alone. UNITY is Jesus’ GREATER WORKS!
"Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another IN LOVE, being diligent to preserve the UNITY OF THE SPIRIT IN THE BOND OF PEACE. There is ONE BODY and ONE SPIRIT, just as also you were called in ONE HOPE of your calling; ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM, ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL who is OVER ALL and THROUGH ALL and IN ALL." Ephesians 4:1-6
King Jesus and His Gospel of Grace emerge as THE ONLY ANSWER in a world shrouded in darkness and marred by evil. Jesus, the Lamb of God is THE ANSWER provided before the foundation of the world, before any of us were even thought of. We are invited to enter THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT.
"I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, THAT THEY MAY BE ONE EVEN AS WE ARE." John 17:11
Rooted in God's boundless LOVE, Grace proclaims Salvation and UNITY not as a reward for human effort but as A GIFT freely given through FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST.
“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that THEY MAY ALL BE ONE; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that THEY BE ONE, JUST AS WE ARE ONE; I in them and You in Me, that THEY MAY BE PERFECTED IN UNITY, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me." John 17:21-23
Salvation Has Appeared to All Men by Grace
Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus offers forgiveness for all sins, by Grace extending freedom and redemption to every soul burdened by guilt or shame. That would be everyone!
"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men," Titus 2:11
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Gospel of Grace transforms lives, breaking down barriers of race, nationality, and social status, fostering UNITY and ONENESS among all who embrace it.
"IN CHRIST we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to THE RICHES OF HIS GRACE." Ephesians 1:7
As followers of Jesus, we are called to surrender ourselves and walk in Jesus’ SELF-GIVING LOVE, actively participating in God's work of reconciliation and restoration in a broken world.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS." Galatians 3:28
IN CHRIST, we find our ultimate source of hope and restoration, and as Jesus’ ambassadors, we SHINE HIS LIGHT of LOVE through GRACE, offering true UNITY and reconciliation to humanity.
"And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony." Colossians 3:14
To be ONE means to be united in purpose, spirit, and identity–UNITED IN LOVE. It signifies a deep interconnectedness and harmony among FOLLOWERS who share a common faith and commitment to Jesus Christ by Grace. It’s a free gift of His love.
"For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of ONE SPIRIT." 1 Corinthians 12:13
It is God’s UNITY We are Invited to Join
God’s UNITY is not merely a superficial agreement or cooperation but a profound oneness that transcends all differences and divisions. We can’t make oneness with God happen, it is a gift we receive. By God’s Grace, we are united in love, faith, and purpose, with Jesus Christ as the UNIFYING focal point experienced through the Holy Spirit.
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
It is extremely important for all people to singularly focus everything on Jesus, our ONE HOPE.
"May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus." Romans 15:5
Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit, is the ONLY source of TRUE UNITY. Jesus is the cornerstone of the Christian faith and embodies God’s love and reconciliation. By focusing on Jesus and following His commands by Grace, we overcome divisions and find common ground in our shared belief in Him.
"So we, though many, are ONE BODY IN CHRIST, and individually members one of another." Romans 12:5
Jesus provides hope for all humanity. In a world full of darkness, suffering, and sin, Jesus offers redemption, transformation, and eternal life. Jesus and His Grace is the ultimate solution to humanity's brokenness and despair.
"So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13
ONE BODY, ONE PLAN, ONE CHRIST
Focusing on Jesus brings clarity and purpose. By directing all our attention and devotion to Jesus, we allow the Holy Spirit to align our lives with God's will and purpose. This singular focus of Jesus enables us to experience fulfillment, meaning, and joy in our fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in ONE BODY. And be thankful." Colossians 3:15
Unity IN CHRIST reflects God's Kingdom of Grace and love. The UNITY of His FOLLOWERS IN CHRIST reflects the UNITY of the triune God and anticipates the ultimate UNITY of all creation in God's UNITED Kingdom. By prioritizing Jesus as the center of our lives, we participate in God's ONE PLAN for reconciliation and restoration.
"For just as THE BODY IS ONE and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, ARE ONE BODY, so it is with Christ." 1 Corinthians 12:12
Trusting Grace for UNITY in Jesus Christ is essential for experiencing the fullness of God's love, purpose, and hope. It is through singularly focusing everything on Jesus that FOLLOWERS of JESUS find true UNITY, meaning, and fulfillment.
"And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent." Colossians 1:18
As followers of Jesus Christ, we understand that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the Gospel of God's Grace, provides our ONLY Salvation amid the darkness and evil present in the world.
"The Child (Jesus) continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him." Luke 2:40
The Gospel of Grace is Salvation
The Gospel of Grace emphasizes Salvation is not earned through human efforts but is a gift of God's Grace--PERIOD. This means that no matter how deep humanity's sin may run, THERE IS redemption through faith IN Jesus Christ.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
The Bible teaches that Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross provides forgiveness for all sins, no matter how vile or heinous.
"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.” Galatians 2:20-21
This brings hope to everyone, particularly those who may feel burdened by guilt or shame because now they have freedom and redemption through Christ.
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Gospel of Grace brings about our transformation. By God's Grace, the Holy Spirit helps us overcome sin AND live by God's will, producing God's fruit of radical generosity and self-giving love in and through our lives.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23
The Gospel of Grace commands FOLLOWERS of CHRIST to embrace one another with the same self-giving love and radical generosity that Christ showed each of us. Through Grace, God's love operates within us, breaking down race, nationality, and social status barriers, presenting JESUS as the sole remedy for a broken world. As we emulate Jesus' sacrificial love, He will actively manifest His love within us and through us, leading to complete reconciliation between God and humanity and fostering UNITY among all people by Grace.
"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." 1 John 4:11
The Gospel of Grace assures us that Jesus is the sole source of our hope and restoration, freely given as a gift expressing God's boundless love for humanity. Those who follow Jesus are guaranteed eternal life in God's presence, where suffering and evil cease to exist.
"After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all Grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, WILL HIMSELF perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you." 1 Peter 5:10
This gift of Grace. sustains us through life's trials, reminding us that ultimate triumph is IN CHRIST. IN CHRIST, we experience His complete joy even amidst any and all struggles.
"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age." Titus 2:11-12
Jesus is the Only Answer
As apprentices of Jesus, FOLLOWERS are called to actively participate in God's work of redemption and reconciliation. This may involve addressing social injustices such as war, brutality, slavery, and human trafficking and advocating for the marginalized and oppressed. By embodying the love and compassion of Christ, FOLLOWERS are agents of change in our communities and beyond.
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me." Matthew 25:35-36
The Gospel of Jesus Christ offers the only solution to the world's brokenness and evil. This will happen through the transformative power of God's Grace.
"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:21
Jesus is the only source of forgiveness, redemption, and Salvation, empowering FOLLOWERS to live lives of love, UNITY, and purpose as we RECEIVE the restoration of all things IN CHRIST.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. ALL THIS IS FROM GOD, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and GAVE US the ministry of reconciliation; that is, IN CHRIST God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and ENTRUSTING TO US the message of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:17-19
Through Jesus, Grace overcomes even the darkest aspects of humanity, bringing about healing and reconciliation and ultimately shining GOD'S LIGHT OF TRIUMPH THROUGHOUT His Kingdom.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8
In real-life terms, Jesus accomplishes transformation within us through the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit.
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit Reveals Jesus
When we accept Jesus as our Savior and choose to follow Him as Lord, the Holy Spirit dwells within us, empowering us by Grace to live in alignment with God's will and embody Christ's love, favor, and compassion.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23
Through the Holy Spirit, we are enabled to love others selflessly, to forgive as we have been forgiven, and to extend Grace and Mercy to those around us. This transformation is WITNESSED in our actions, attitudes, and interactions. We become His Ambassadors of Reconciliation, seeking to bridge divides and heal brokenness in our relationships and communities BY GRACE.
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you." John 14:16-17
Furthermore, as we grow in our relationship with Jesus through prayer, Scripture study, and fellowship with other FOLLOWERS, the Holy Spirit continues to work in us, shaping us more and more into Christ's image. Our lives become a testimony to the transformative power of God's love and Grace, offering real hope and restoration to a broken world.
"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18
Follow Jesus - Absolute Surrender and Obedience
Do you hear the urgent call echoing through the ages, reverberating in the depths of our souls, “Deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Jesus?” But let us not overlook the profound message of UNITY IN CHRIST accompanying this call. For as we deny ourselves, pick up our crosses, and follow Jesus obediently, we are knit together in a bond of divine UNITY and LOVE that transcends all boundaries and barriers.
"Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." Romans 12: 1
In denying ourselves, we forsake our desires and ambitions, but in doing so, we discover a deeper UNITY OF CHRIST with our fellow believers. As we surrender our own will to the will of God, we find ourselves aligned with our brothers and sisters IN CHRIST, UNITED in purpose, mind, and heart.
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2
Likewise, as we pick up our crosses and endure the trials and tribulations that come our way, we are reminded that we are not alone in our suffering. In bearing our burdens, we share in the fellowship of Christ's sufferings, and in doing so, we become UNITED WITH HIM and with ONE ANOTHER in a bond of PEACE that cannot be broken.
"For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith." Romans 12:3
As we follow Jesus obediently, with unwavering faith and trust, we walk together on a journey of HIS discipleship and transformation. Jesus is our only Rabbi, Teacher, and Leader. In following his footsteps, we become united with Him in our pursuit of righteousness, holiness, and love.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Join the ONE BODY of Christ by Grace
This call to deny self, pick up our cross, and follow Jesus is not just an individual mandate; it is a collective invitation BY HIM to join together as ONE body, ONE family, ONE Church. He does the inviting and the joining. Jesus IS UNITY. Either join IN HIM, by Grace, or be left out in the dark.
"Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;" Romans 12:6
It is a call to embrace our UNITY IN CHRIST and to celebrate the diversity of gifts, talents, and backgrounds that each of us brings to the table.
"I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus," 1 Corinthians 1:4
So, whether you are a college professor or an airline pilot, a retired judge or a kindergarten teacher, a college student or a senior pastor, a pregnant single mother or a struggling entrepreneur, know that you are not alone.
"But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift." Ephesians 4:7
We are all members of ONE BODY, UNITED IN CHRIST BY CHRIST, called to walk together in love and unity, as we deny self, pick up our cross, and follow Jesus. Let us rise up, hand in hand, as trophies of His Grace in a world that desperately needs the transformative power of God's love by Grace.
"Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;" Romans 12:6-10
