WHAT TITHING WAS MEANT TO BE

Tithing in the early Church wasn’t a business model—it was a manifestation of family. It wasn’t transactional, it was relational. Rooted in the Hebrew model of firstfruits and expressed in the Acts 2 community, tithing was not an obligation—it was flow of the Holy Spirit. Every resource given was distributed “as any had need” (Acts 2:45). No flashy campaigns. No emotional manipulation. No guilt-ridden sermons.

There was no stage-centered hierarchy. There were no building campaigns. The early believers didn’t give to protect a brand. They gave because they were ONE BODY under ONE KING, stewarding the collective abundance of God for the good of His people and the advancement of His Kingdom.

Contrast that with today’s Babylonian blueprint. The modern Church has become a well-oiled religious corporation, where tithing fuels empires, not ekklesias. Where budgets serve buildings instead of bodies. Where pastors quote Malachi 3:10 to maintain their salary, but ignore Acts 4:32–35 when it comes to Kingdom distribution.

Jesus didn’t flip tables in the Temple because someone forgot to tithe. He flipped tables because His Father’s House had become a financial scam, a marketplace of religious greed. He started His ministry with a whip in His hand—and ended it by returning to that same Temple and driving them out again.

Two table-flippings. One message: This must stop.

“And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. And He said to them, ‘It is written: “My house will be called a house of prayer”; but you are making it a den of robbers.’” Matthew 21:12–13

Jesus never rebuked people for tithing. He rebuked the leaders for profiting off their devotion. Today’s American Church must come under that same scrutiny—and the ones holding the purse strings may be the ones Heaven is appointing to hold the plumb line.

LAZARUS ARISES — THE TITHERS WHO NEVER LEFT

You didn’t leave. You stayed. You gave when others stopped. You tithed when others criticized. You supported pastors and buildings, staff and events, youth programs, and Sunday bulletins. You didn’t just tithe—you sacrificed. You funded the whole show. Week after week. Year after year.

And what did you get in return?

You got fake smiles. Thin sermons. Powerless prayer. You got pushed aside and patted on the back. You got mailers and fundraising appeals, but never an invitation to lead, question, or inspect the books.

You were Lazarus—and they buried you with a check in your hand. But now Jesus is outside your tomb, calling you out. Not just to stand, but to govern.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house… and put Me to the test now in this,” says the LORD of armies.” Malachi 3:10

Article Nine–FAITHFUL TITHERS—The Last Hope of the Church: THE TRUTH BEHIND THE MODERN-DAY CHURCH IN AMERICA

TITHERS - YOU HOLD THE PURSE STRINGS, AND THE CHURCH KNOWS IT

Here’s the secret no one says out loud: you hold the power. The modern-day American church isn’t held together by vision—it’s held together by tithes. Without your faithful giving, the lights go out. The stage goes dark. The live stream shuts down. The staff goes home.

They know this. That’s why they smile at you. That’s why they promise to name things after you. That’s why they invite you to dinner or brunch while ignoring the ushers. Because deep down, they fear your obedience more than they revere God.

And now, like a Holy DOGE Oversight Committee, it’s time for the tithers to stand up—not to destroy, but to rebuild. You don’t just fund the church—you could save it. Or, if needed, shut it down and start over.

You are the last lever. The last line. The last hope.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

“The borrower becomes the lender’s slave.” Proverbs 22:7

CALL FOR REFORM — YOU FUND IT, YOU FIX IT

This is the part where you stop being the wallet and start being the reformer. You’ve been tithing into a broken system long enough. If God gave you the gift of giving, then use it to govern, redirect, and resurrect.

It’s time to ask hard questions: Where is the money really going? Why are six-figure salaries hidden behind smiling pulpits? Why are new parking lots and campuses being built while prayer meetings are empty? Why does every vision board include upgrades to the stage—but not a single plan to make disciples who make disciples?

If you can balance a checkbook, you can challenge a budget.

If you can write a tithe check, you can write a letter of confrontation.

And if you have faithfully sown into this ministry for years, you have every right to call a meeting and demand reform. Demand transparency. Demand accountability. Demand fruit.

This is not rebellion. This is mercy and righteousness. The same Jesus who flipped tables is now flipping ledgers—and He’s calling you to help.

“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” Matthew 7:19

“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”  Ephesians 5:11

GOD IS APPOINTING NEW TREASURERS — AND YOU’VE BEEN NOMINATED

It’s time to reclaim what has been stolen.

Just like Nehemiah inspected the walls and tore down what was corrupted, you’ve been given the mantle to rebuild the house of God. The pastor may have the microphone, but you have the means. The elder board may have titles, but you have the leverage. And now, the Spirit is asking you to take that influence and put it under the rule of King Jesus.

Enough is enough.

No more anonymous spending.
No more golden parachutes for retiring CEOs-in-pulpits.
No more youth budgets smaller than the coffee budget.
No more lies dressed as “vision.”

The faithful tithe must no longer fund unfaithful leaders.

You don’t need to riot—you need to reorganize. You don’t need to post about it—you need to pray into it. Pull together other tithers. Speak with one voice. Audit the house of God. Then declare: “If the Spirit of Jesus isn’t leading, the money’s not flowing.”

If this sounds extreme, just go read Revelation chapters 2 and 3. Jesus already gave His verdict. He’s knocking at the door of a lukewarm church. And now, you have the keys to open it—or to walk away and build something better.

“Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and I will remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.” Revelation 2:5

“Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:19

ASK THE KING, THEN MOVE THE MOUNTAIN

You are not just funding ministry—you’re being invited to reshape it.

And now, the King is asking you the same question He asked every Lazarus: “What do you want Me to do for you?”

Ask Him:

“Jesus, what do You want me to do with the treasure You gave me?”

Because your wealth is not just currency—it’s a key. And keys open doors. Keys lock things down. Keys start engines.

You’re not just a donor. You’re a Kingdom sheriff. And there’s a new law being written in the Spirit:

No more churches without Christ.
No more salaries without service.
No more boards without accountability.
No more pulpits without prayer.

St. George, Utah — May 2025 — We’re calling faithful tithers to come to the Kingdom Banquet. Bring your discernment, your prophetic ears, your financial wisdom, and your uncompromising love for the Lord.

We’re not asking for money. We’re asking for movement.

The Church needs reformers, not more revenue. And the last Lazarus to rise… might be the one who finally saves the Church.

“My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27

“The wise store up knowledge, but with the mouth of the foolish, ruin is at hand.” Proverbs 10:14

Faithful Tither Lazarus — the vault is open, but it belongs to the King.

Now rise. Speak. Build. Reform.
