By Grace, the expectation is that we are to SHINE GOD’S LIGHT through His goodness flowing in us and through us. WE ARE THE LIGHT TO THE WORLD, pointing to God’s self-giving love.
"and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed." Hebrews 12:13
We start out with nothing. We add nothing. We deserve nothing. However, through Grace, we are showered with God’s GIFTS, TALENTS, and POTENTIONAL.
"Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14
WHEN WE BELIEVE, Grace makes us thankful. When we are THANKFUL, we discover we’re made in HIS IMAGE.
"See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;" Hebrews 12:15
In COMMUNION with TRUTH, we discover that we are the objects of God’s love. We are His inheritance. We are HIS DEVOTION. We are HIS PRAYERS answered. We are HIS WORSHIP. We are HIS WITNESSES and TESTIMONY.
"that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal." Hebrews 12:16
Everything GOOD is for HIM and by HIM, through US. God did everything on our behalf and called us to share it with the world. God did it and does it alone. We receive, and we are thankful. That’s our part.
"For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears." Hebrews 12:17
We worship because that’s who we are. We are His, and as such, we WORSHIP HIM. We acknowledge who we are IN CHRIST, Sons and Daughters of GOD, by GRACE working through LOVE.
"For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind," Hebrews 12:18
God’s Grace allows us to view our life as a gift. God’s Grace allows us to KNOW we are made in GOD’s IMAGE. By Grace, we are empowered to look upon HIM and to FOLLOW HIM, and be transformed by Grace into His image.
"and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them." Hebrews 12:19
We are not called to look upon MAN and follow him. We are to seek CHRIST ALONE and follow Jesus. We can look to others, those who are CHRIST's FOLLOWERS, and watch. But we FOLLOW CHRIST only. Others may teach and point us to Jesus, but only JESUS can transform us.
"For they could not bear the command, “If even a beast touches the mountain, it will be stoned.” Hebrews 12:20
We are called to give up our lives, deny ourselves, pick up our cross, and follow Jesus. The promise is that HE WILL TRANSFORM US from the inside out.
"And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, “I am full of fear and trembling.” Hebrews 12:21
We are made in God’s image. We are creators. We create. In thanksgiving and through God’s Grace, we LIVE. We receive Jesus’ life through GRACE, HIS JOY, and PEACE. So, from a heart of thanksgiving we CELEBRATE Jesus’s life in us. WHEN WE Believe we belong, and when we belong, we CELEBRATE and SHINE.
"But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels," Hebrews 12:22
Through Grace, we live apart from man’s wisdom, which is bathed in condemnation, shame, manipulation, performance, and even witchcraft.
"to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect," Hebrews 12:23
Grace is not opposed to a robust response of LOVE from us as we receive wave after wave of God’s endless Grace.
"and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel." Hebrews 12:24
Grace will move us toward acts of Goodness. Grace is so powerful it expects a response of Grace from us.
"See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven." Hebrews 12:25
Grace does not oppose our enthusiastic response to Grace as long as we receive it as a pure gift.
"And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” Hebrews 12:26
Grace does not oppose our PASSION to SHARE GRACE; it's an automatic response.
"This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain." Hebrews 12:27
Grace is not opposed to our efforts to seek more Grace and to share it.
"Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe;" Hebrews 12:28
Grace is ABUNDANCE. However, GRACE cannot be earned through human wisdom. Our efforts or actions never merit grace.
"for our God is a consuming fire." Hebrews 12:29
The world is a dangerous and dark place, and the Grace of God allows us to SHINE BRIGHTLY with Confidence and Joy while demonstrating HIS PEACE.
By Grace, God’s Yoke is easy, and His burden is light. By Grace, we are empowered to endure to the end, pass through every test, tribulation, and trial, and SHINE HIS GOODNESS through Self-giving love.
- Grace has been given to those who will go before the KING JESUS on behalf of their nation!
- Grace has been given to be the unpopular voice amongst the sheep.
- Grace takes us through seasons of deep refinery and healing.
- Grace lets us walk through fire to answer HIS CALL to FOLLOW HIM obediently.
- Grace purges us of the contamination of the religious spirit others have culturally accepted.
The God of all Grace has given us the exact same measure of Grace He gave Jesus. Receive it and shine bright for His great name!
