The Scripture that best encapsulates the essence of these two paragraphs from "THE Greater Works" is John 14:12-13. In this passage, Jesus speaks to His disciples, promising that those who believe in Him will also do the works He has been doing, and they will do even greater works because He is going to the Father.
"And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." 2 Corinthians 12:9
Jesus emphasizes that whatever is asked in His name, He will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:12-13 beautifully aligns with the idea that God's greater works are manifested through us as we glorify the Father, reflecting the glory of the Son through our lives, even in our weaknesses.
"In behalf of such a man I will boast; but in my own behalf I will not boast, except regarding my weaknesses." 2 Corinthians 12:5
Additionally, the concept of salvation as the eternal gift from God, meant to glorify the Father and the Son through His work in us, is echoed in Ephesians 2:8-10. This passage reminds us that it is by grace we have been saved, through faith—and this is not from ourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;" Ephesians 2:8
We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared us to do. This aligns with the notion that salvation is God's work in us, a part of His greater plan, designed to bring glory to Himself through our lives and actions.
"Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who believes has eternal life." John 6:47
Salvation is Eternal Life from the Eternal One Who Gives Life
Salvation is God’s and has always been with God. Salvation was for us, the Gift of His Greater Works, and we have always been in Salvation. His Salvation working in and through us glorifies the Father and the Son.
"Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves." John 14:11
Salvation is God, and it is God’s, and He gave it to the Son to give to anyone He wants. The Son chooses to give Himself up for ALL OF US; in Humility, He gave Himself up for ALL OF US so that He could give ALL OF US His Salvation by Faith–His Faith, which is GRACE. We either RECEIVE His free gift of Salvation by Grace, or we REJECT IT.
"For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:8
Jesus did all the work; we either RECEIVE HIS WORK by Grace, or we REJECT IT.

"If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." John 15:7
God, our CREATOR, supplied our LIFE. God, our SAVIOR, our ONLY HOPE, SAVED US by faithful obedience to the Father and a FREE GRACE GIFT. HIS SALVATION IS OUR ONLY HOPE.
"But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the boundless riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:4-7
God is perfect, and He is perfecting us. God is the only perfect one, the only one who can perfect us. We cannot perfect ourselves; we desperately depend on God for life and everything in life. He is perfecting us because He loves us.
"After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." 1 Peter 5:10

"No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us... By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, we also are in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love." 1 John 4:12, 17-18
We, THE NEW HUMANITY, those reborn IN CHRIST, are God’s Greater Works. Jesus is working HIS LIFE IN US, doing the Father’s Greater Works of Glory in each of us–ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

Apart from His Grace, we cannot deny ourselves long term, for it is impossible to do. We can’t deny ourselves long term, but God can do anything through us—the paradox. We can’t do anything on our own, those IN CHRIST, nothing is impossible.
"and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth." Ephesians 4:24

Our part is to be humble and to wait entirely on the Lord. He promises to give us Grace and to work His Humility in us so that we can stand firm in Faith as we wait upon Him. If you haven’t already noticed, we are 100% dependent upon God.
"through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles in behalf of His name," Romans 1:5
That means we can’t do anything apart from God. He has given us Grace to surrender all, 100%. We can’t surrender all, so He gives us Grace to do it.
"Do you not know that the one to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of that same one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?" Romans 6:16

As Sons and Daughters of God, He calls us to co-labor with Him. Consequently, we are equipped to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. We are called to lay down our lives, empty ourselves, and LOVE ONE ANOTHER. He EMPOWERS US, and He gives us HIS LIFE to LOVE OTHERS. When we love one another THROUGH JESUS’ LOVE, we become the Greater Works of God.
"Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord ." Psalms 27:14

He REDEEMED HUMANITY. He gave us THE NEW HUMANITY to be BORN OF GOD. He is now working His works in and through us by Grace. He works His works through those who are humble, those who are willing to WAIT ON GOD to DO HIS WORKS in us and through us–ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

We are His Greater Works
God Works Himself and His Works in us and through us, those who are HUMBLE.
As we draw near to the heart of our journey together, a profound truth emerges from our shared experience: Waiting on God and Working for God are intricately woven together in a divine tapestry of grace and purpose. This revelation is not merely a theological concept but a living, breathing reality that we are called to embody every day of our walk with the Lord.
In waiting on God, we find ourselves deeply engaged in the work He has called us to. This waiting is not a passive resignation but an active, vibrant preparation of our hearts and minds for His divine assignments. In these moments of stillness and surrender, we are doing the most significant work of all – allowing the Potter to shape the clay and mold us into vessels fit for His use.
Similarly, when we step out in faith to work for God, we find that we are also waiting on Him – for guidance, strength, wisdom, and the fruition of His promises. In every act of service, there is an element of waiting, an acknowledgment that we can do nothing without Him.
This beautiful interplay between waiting and working is the essence of our calling as followers of Christ. It is a privilege of the highest order, a sacred vocation that invites us into the very heart of God's redemptive plan for the world. To wait on God is to work for Him; to work for Him is to wait on Him. This is the rhythm of the kingdom life, a dance of faith that moves to the tempo of divine grace and sovereignty.
As we embrace this holy calling, let us do so with hearts full of joy and expectation, knowing that we are participating in the greatest work of all – the manifestation of God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Let us take hold of this privilege with both hands, dedicating ourselves afresh to the Lord and His purposes, confident that He who began a good work in us will continue until the day of Christ Jesus.
My prayer for each of you is that you will experience the profound peace and joy that comes from knowing you are exactly where God wants you to be – in the center of His will, waiting on Him, and working for Him. What a privilege! What an honor! May we all walk in this truth, fully surrendered and fully alive to His calling on our lives.
