HOUSE Churches - The Original Design
Why isn’t Jesus Fixing Today’s American Church? Why is it Unfixable?
Because Jesus never came to fix man’s systems—He came to establish the Father's Kingdom. The American church—centered on celebrity pastors, human wisdom, emotionalism, control, performance, and profit—was not built by Jesus. He cannot fix what He did not build. He will not breathe resurrection life into a structure that glorifies man instead of exalting His Son, KING JESUS.
Psalm 127:1 “ Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”
The modern American church is built on platforms, programs, personalities, and performance, not on the Person of Jesus Christ as the only Foundation. It is Babylon in religious form—a mixture of truth and lies, Spirit and flesh, God and mammon. And God never blesses mixture. Mixture is rebellion. Mixture is spiritual adultery.
Why is it Unfixable?
Because you cannot pour new wine into old wineskins. Jesus said so Himself.
Luke 5:37–38 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.”
The centralized, consumer-driven church of today is the old wineskin. It was designed to elevate the few and pacify the many, to comfort the flesh, not crucify it. It was not made to hold the Glory of God, the New Wine of the Holy Spirit, or the pure flow of Grace. It cannot stretch. It cannot change. It cannot hold revival. It cannot carry the glory.
So Jesus is not fixing it. He is replacing it. And He is doing it with House Churches—living stones, gathered in humility, brokenness, mutual honor, and supernatural love–PRAISE GOD! Can you imagine?
Why is Jesus Replacing It Instead of Reforming It?
Judgment begins with the house of God (1 Peter 4:17), and Jesus, the Faithful and True Witness, has already judged the Laodicean system as wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. He stands outside the door knocking, not because He was invited to lead—but because He was kicked out of His own Church (Revelation 3:20).
Jesus is building something new, something ancient, something heavenly. The pattern has always been in the Word: intimate, Spirit-filled, disciple-making families gathered around the presence of Jesus, led by the Head, not by a hierarchy.
What Happens if His People Do Not Come Out of Babylon?
Revelation 18:4 “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues.”
If God’s people refuse to leave Babylon, they will share in Babylon’s judgment.
They will experience:
Spiritual barrenness (no fruit, no life)
Delusion (unable to hear truth)
Powerlessness (cut off from true authority)
A false sense of security (lukewarmness masked as blessing)
And ultimately, the loss of intimacy with Jesus, the Bridegroom.
To remain in Babylon is to choose religion over relationship, form over fire, control over surrender, and self-preservation and self-promotion over death to self.
Hebrews 12:27 “This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.”
The American church is being shaken. The scaffolding of man's systems is collapsing. Jesus is preparing a Bride, not a brand. A Kingdom, not a corporation.
What Must We Do Now?
Repent — Turn from man-made systems and return to Jesus as the only Head.
Come out — Detach from Babylon, spiritually and practically.
Gather in homes — Follow the Acts model: fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, and discipleship.
Love deeply — Let the law of Christ (love) govern every interaction.
Make disciples — Multiply the life of Christ in others.
Jesus isn’t fixing the American church because He never built it. It’s unfixable because it was made in man’s image, not God’s. The old wineskin cannot contain the New Wine. Babylon is collapsing. The Spirit cries: “Come out of her, My people!” Those who stay will suffer loss.
But those who come out will find Jesus waiting, arms open, to lead them into a new move of God—a decentralized, Spirit-led, love-soaked, truth-rooted, disciple-making Kingdom community. The time is now. The call is urgent. And the King is at the door.
Romans 12:4–5 “For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another.”
What is a HOUSE Church?
HOUSE Churches are like sports teams or work teams. HOUSE Churches are like teams with a well-defined IDENTITY, like Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the New England Patriots—a well-defined team where each player is important and plays their individual role to perfection. Think of a quarterback like Tom Brady and a Wide Receiver like Julian Edelman working together flawlessly behind a perfectly in-tune frontline–DESTINY!
1 Corinthians 12:18 “But now God has arranged the parts, each one of them in the body, just as He desired.”
Can you imagine having 55 highly skilled professional football players on one team but only putting one of those players out on the field to represent the entire team? How many games will that one player win? None?
A good football team uses all 55 players, and they are all important, as each one knows their specific role in victory. Can you imagine all that talent just sitting on the bench (54 players)?
Well, isn’t this exactly how today's church is set up? One lead pastor leads several associate pastors while most people are sitting on the bench, sitting in the crowd listening to human wisdom for 30 minutes per week from the pulpit, and very little spiritual growth or spiritual formation in the body. THE TRUTH IS SUPPOSED TO HURT, AND SET YOU FREE.
Ephesians 4:16 "From whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love."
The coaching staff in the football team example, pastors are supposed to be truth-telling foot-washers who make disciples who make disciples who make disciples. Unfortunately, in today’s local churches, as well as mega-churches and denominational churches, leaders are running centralized churches where most of the people stand between pastoral leadership and Christ.
The current model is like having one professional football player play the game while all the talent sits on the bench doing nothing. The current modern-day church model will be done away with SOON, replaced by House Churches—like those in IRAN, CHINA, and INDIA, what Jesus and His disciples taught, instructed, and modeled for us to follow, and we have not.
Instead, today's American churches and church denomination systems, including the local non-denominational churches, are centralized one-man shows—no foot-washing and very little truth-telling. Instead of keeping everyone coming each week to sit and listen and leave only to do nothing, churches have to tickle ears and entertain. This is not what Jesus modeled or taught.
Matthew 28:19–20 "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
HOUSE Churches—think teams with IDENTITIES or football players with positions and a playbook. HOUSE Churches are like good football teams that win championship after championship, where all players play their position flawlessly, all following the same plays from the same playbook. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
2 Timothy 3:16–17 “All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.”
HOUSE Churches are where everyone loves one another. HOUSE Churches are houses and homes filled by love because the people who live there are love—God's love—a place where everyone loves one another like Jesus loves the church. But that’s not all, that’s just the beginning, the foundation. There is so much more.
John 13:34–35 "A new commandment I give you, that you love one another, just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another."
HOUSE Churches are decentralized, where all participants are equally connected to ONE HEAD—King Jesus. Jesus is the Head of the Body, and there is only ONE HEAD in the Christian body, and it is Jesus.
Every member of the body is connected to the ONE head. IN CHRIST, there is ONE HEAD and all members have been given unique IDENTITIES. Some are lung cells, some are skin cells, and some are gallbladder cells. Not every cell is the same, but every cell is an equal member of the Body. If the skin, lung, and gallbladder cells were forced to sit silently and not participate in the body, what would happen? Good things? No, cancer… or worse, DEATH!
Colossians 1:18 He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
Jesus is looking for truth-tellers and foot-washers, humble servants who deny self and love like Jesus loved—but not by might, but by His power working through humility and love.
Jesus sent us to love our neighbors AND our enemies. Is your church making disciples who make disciples? If so, double down with that church body. Give them all you've got. If not, ask the Holy Spirit what He wants you to do–remember, it is HIS JOB, not yours. But I promise you one thing: Jesus is not fixing the modern American church; in fact, He’s burning it down.
Zechariah 4:6 “Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of armies.”
Jesus is the KING of a decentralized Kingdom, where all citizens are connected to HIM, and He is the King, with NO MAN in between serving as a priest or a mediator between God and man, because only Jesus can fill that role and make it happen.
1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”
In a healthy body all cells, although very different from one another, are working together flawlessly, all serving their particular function and role. In an unhealthy body, some cells are neglected, starved, and forgotten, while others receive way too much control and instead of serving, they lord over in a human hierarchical leadership scheme and refuse to wash feet or tell the truth.
1 Corinthians 12:25 “So that there may be no division in the body, but that the parts may have the same care for one another.”
In today's churches, one man delivers 30 minutes of human wisdom and human philosophy per week, expecting the members to grow spiritually while starving them and binding them. Today’s churches are about feeding the beast—the church organization—and mimicking an image of the marketplace and carnal businesses, and not the Kingdom of God, which is a supernatural kingdom where one must be born again to enter, born of the Spirit.
But before one can be born again, one must deny oneself and DIE. They must confess their weaknesses and their absolute dependency on Christ while renouncing all self-protection and self-promotion. What Pastor do you know that fits that description? If you’ve found one, I must meet him or her immediately! It’s like finding a Leprechaun.
John 3:5–6 "Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit.”
In a HOUSE Church, a decentralized body where all members are equally connected to one Head—King Jesus—ALL IDENTITIES are wanted, needed, and appreciated. In a HOUSE Church, all IDENTITIES are honored, appreciated, and supported by Love. In a HOUSE Church, all IDENTITIES are formed in love by the community over some time through love by Grace. Be honest with yourself: In your church, how many people do you know? How many of people do you know well? How many of them would you lay down your life for?
Ephesians 4:7 “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.”
Today’s pastor-leaders are not truth-tellers, and they are certainly not washing feet, and they are not teaching others to do the same. Today’s churches are like the Pope, where all the underlings must bow and kiss the ring. 25 minutes of vain human wisdom, producing no fruit and no life. I feel so bad for sounding so harsh, but in all honesty, I am already toning it down.
Today’s church structure is a design of this world, of Babylon, and there is no life. There is plenty of hype, lots of religion, emotions, philosophy, business connections, and plenty of self-serving entertainment mixed with life coaching—but no denying of self, no cross, and no following Jesus.
Today’s Nicolaitan churches from Laodicea are full of dead men’s bones desperately in need of truth, light, and the life of Christ. Unfortunately, all too many members suffer from Entitlementitis, a disease of self-protection and self-promotion.
Revelation 3:17 “Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and yet you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked…”
In today's carnal consumer church, they are not teaching IDENTITY IN CHRIST. Instead, they are teaching people how to do better in this life–how to build their own empires, their own domains, and their own kingdoms. It is very sad.
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
Jesus taught us to leave the ninety-nine safe and mature sheep and go after the one lost sheep. Today’s one-man show pastors do all the teaching, and no one learns how to go after the one. There is no true discipleship in today’s church. There’s no true spiritual formation going on—instead, ear-tickling and feeding the selfish desires of the flesh (to be blessed).
Luke 15:4 “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?”
It is time to repent. We are to humble ourselves, confess our weaknesses, selfishness, and sins, forgive everyone, and see everyone as if they were Jesus Himself. We are supposed to deny self, pick up our cross, die to self, and follow Jesus—thus we are transformed and conformed into His image, the image of God–ALL BY GRACE.
We are supposed to ask Jesus for Grace and acknowledge our inability and our desperation for His Grace, Mercy, Wisdom, and Favor. We are supposed to trust God to give each one of us, those born by the will of God, our IDENTITY IN CHRIST. We have been formed, called, and chosen for His perfect purposes.
Our will in alignment with His will by Grace, as a free gift of righteousness that we receive. We are to disciple one another, baptizing them into ONE BODY and ONE MIND, IN CHRIST.
Luke 9:23 “And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
